Meninas do handebol itabunense conquistaram vice no Interestadual em Prado.
Itabuna ficou em segundo lugar na classificação geral da quarta edição da Copa Prado de Handebol, disputa de 10 a 12 de agosto no município do extremo-sul baiano.
A equipe masculina foi vice ao perder para a forte Seleção de Guaratinga por 18 a 15, depois de ter superado Caravelas, Luís Eduardo Magalhães e o time B de Itabuna.
O time feminino fez partida muito disputa contra a Seleção de Teófilo Otoni. A equipe mineira ficou com o título, conquistado apenas na prorrogação: 22 a 20.
- O nível do handebol de Itabuna tem superado as expectativas de todos – afirma o técnico Ascendino Montenegro. Neste ano, as duas seleções, diz, ganhou praticamente todas as competições das quais participou. O treinador também destaca o apoio do secretário de Esporte, Alcântara Pellegrini.
